About PHOENIX

Formed out of Melbourne’s lockdowns in 2021, Phoenix Burlesque Troupe started out as an all female-identifying group of 7 performers, and hit the ground running with performances across Australia. The troupe did not survive in that form and split in late 2022. In 2023 three founding members - Allura Lustra, Cherry Charleston and Red Lumiere invited two of their partners - boylesque artists Mr O and Percee Veerance to join them, and the new Phoenix was launched.

The mission of Phoenix Burlesque Troupe is to prove that sexy is an attitude, not an age. As performers over the age of 50, we reserve the right to have a place on stages around the world, and refuse to have our only representation on stage be “Menopause the Musical” (not that there is anything wrong with that). We are also here to have fun, and would LOVE to entertain you!

Cherry Charleston is a vintage dancer who loves to perform in her rhinestoned undies at any opportunity. From tap dance teacher to burlesque performer, Cherry's journey has seen her produce sold-out burlesque and cabaret shows in Darwin, sing in the Australian Premiere of 9 to 5 the Musical , and yes she has taught over 1000 Zumba classes in Phillip Island. As the creative force behind Phoenix Burlesque Troupe, she's leading a movement that proves once and for all, that sexy is an attitude not an age.

Percee Veerance is a burlesque performer who embodies pure passion and power every time he hits the stage. Though he is humble in demeanor, he exudes an undeniable sexiness that captivates audiences.
